Something special happens here.
When I walk onto a factory floor, something happens to me. The sound, the smell of oil, people who know what they are doing. Experience, technology and craftsmanship come together. That combination is not easily replicated.
My father was a welder in the steel industry. My grandfather ran a large installation business. I have always worked in technical companies myself. Time and again, I see the potential in those people and their work. That is what I want to help build on.
I also seek out the people who prefer to stay in the background. I ask further questions and connect what I hear on the shop floor with discussions about the market, the numbers and the direction of the business.
“If I make a commitment, I have to deliver. That is where trust begins.”
Recognising expertise. Taking responsibility.
At Celsius, I saw how motivated technicians made the difference in aircraft maintenance. My confidence in their expertise was an important reason for approaching Nayak. That ultimately led to the acquisition.
Later, at Nayak, we changed the offering: from supplying personnel to taking responsibility for the work on aircraft ourselves. The technicians’ ideas were the starting point. I translated them into agreements with the customer and an organisation capable of delivering.
Looking beyond the technical question
At VBR, I worked with customers to understand what their installation meant for the whole business, and with employees to identify expertise we were not yet making full use of. Connecting the two opens up new opportunities for services and customer value.
My approach is direct and personal. I say what I think, invite people to challenge me and take responsibility, even when a decision is difficult. The interests of the business come first.
